Welcome to Germany!
Orientation course, beginner level A1-B1 (integration courses)
The orientation course is the final part of the integration course. It provides basic knowledge of the German state, society and history and comprises 100 hours. Key topics of the orientation course are the German legal system, history, culture and the values that are important in Germany. These include, for example, freedom of religion, tolerance and equal rights.
Topics from the field of politics in a democracy make up the largest part of the orientation course. Learning about the structure of the state and how the democratic system works makes it possible to recognise the basic mechanisms and structures of the German state. Knowledge of the historical background of today's Germany is an important prerequisite for developing an understanding of present-day Germany.
During the orientation course, the teachers present this content in a lively and practical way. Audiovisual media may be used to illustrate and clarify the topics. A regional connection can often be made.
Participants complete the orientation course with the “Life in Germany” test. Passing the test is a prerequisite for receiving the “Integration Certificate”, which is issued by BAMF. The “Life in Germany” test is also recognised for naturalisation in Germany.
Sprachakademie Karlsruhe is a course and examination provider licensed by BAMF and telc. In addition, Sprachakademie is an accredited test centre for the TestDaF. The company is certified by Certqua according to the DIN ISO 9001 quality management standards.
